VIRF
Preserving Living Heritage. Empowering Future Researchers.
The Programme
The VIDFLIX Indigenous Research Fellowship (VIRF) is a flagship initiative dedicated to documenting and preserving the living heritage of indigenous and traditional communities across India.
The Fellowship brings together passionate students, young researchers, scholars, and cultural practitioners to record the voices, knowledge systems, festivals, languages, oral histories, crafts, and traditions that are at risk of disappearing.
Working alongside universities, faculty mentors, and local communities, Fellows undertake carefully designed field assignments that contribute to the growing VIDFLIX Indigenous Archive — a long-term visual and research repository dedicated to safeguarding cultural memory for future generations.
